The Funding and Community Officer for the Police & Crime Commissioner for Northumbria will work with the Director of Communities and Commissioning to support them in their role in developing and implementing the PCC work programme including providing an effective and efficient grant funding and community engagement programme for the Police & Crime Commissioner (PCC) for Northumbria.
The post holder will also have responsibility for developing and maintaining links with the voluntary and business and community sector ensuring that the Commissioner’s Advisory Groups are fully serviced and provided with support in the development of this area.
You will be responsible for administering a grant aid and commissioning programme, oversee grant approvals, monitor funded projects, contribute to financial returns and plan and develop on-going funding programmes across Northumbria.
The post holder will refresh an outreach programme for the Police & Crime Commissioner with communities across the Northumbria Force area, including the protected strands. The post holder will gather, verify and assess all appropriate and available information to enable them to produce a dynamic programme of engagement and consultation with local community groups and will engage with individuals, groups and organisations in each community, designing presentations that communicate the aims of the Police & Crime Commissioner. You will design consultation exercises with local communities on key criminal justice issues.
You will plan and organise tasks effectively, taking a structured and methodical approach to your work, manage multiple tasks effectively by thinking things through in advance, prioritising and managing time well. You will be focused on the outcomes to be achieved, working quickly and accurately and seeking guidance where appropriate.
