Northumbria VRU, part of the Office of the Police & Crime Commissioner for Northumbria, was awarded £135,162 by the Home Office to provide emergency support to small/micro charities that are working with vulnerable young people at risk of being involved in serious violence.

The funding is intended to provide emergency support in response to the immediate pressures created by Covid-19. To find out more about which groups were funded including further information please view here.

In October 2020, following the award of the above grant, the Home Office provided a further £94,520 to support youth organisations during the winter months – specifically to provide detached youth work and engagement opportunities for young people. The funding was distributed to 11 organisations and they can be viewed here.
