VRU Phase 3 Funded Projects (2021-2022)
The Home Office formally announced Year 3 continuation funding for VRU’s on 8th February 2021. Funding has been agreed for another 12 months, and a further £1.6m has been allocated to Northumbria.
Taking into account progress to date as well as continued intelligence interventions for Year 3 will focus on the following:
– The continued importance of community-based interventions involving individuals with lived experience
– The need for further direct engagement with young people to both divert them from offending and reduce their risk of being drawn into criminality
– The need to focus on whole family interventions to tackle issues of violence
– The need to target interventions at those areas of most need
