Each month Independent Custody Visitors make visits to Custody Suites across the Northumbria Force area to ensure that detainees are held safely and their rights and entitlements are being observed. The comments made by Independent Custody Visitors are referenced in the report below and includes the response provided by Northumbria Police highlighting their actions in relation to any concerns raised.
