Commissioner Contributes to Reducing Women Offending Study

The Commissioner contributed to the research conducted by Revolving Door looking at the benefits of prevention and early intervention with women who offend or are at risk of offending.
Northumbria PCC Vera Baird QC has targeted a holistic approach to women’s offending. This includes a particular focus on prevention and intervening early, acknowledging that many women involved in offending face multiple and complex needs and are likely to also face problems around abusive relationships and other social factors.
