Domestic Abuse and Coercive Control

The Office of Police Crime Commissioner and Northumbria Police Force have developed a training programme in partnership with the Community and Voluntary sector. It is currently been delivered to ALL officers across the force. The aim of this training programme is to provide officers and staff with knowledge and understanding of coercive and controlling behaviour so they can see what is behind assaults and other domestic abuse incidents they attend, giving them a better insight into this type of behaviour and how it is dealt with.
